January is over…

One month ago this year began, and I was convinced that I knew exactly what was coming. I was wrong. At that time I knew this year would be about working hard, and i knew it would be a year that set me up for the next 5 years. The results of this years work, and this years decisions would determine the course that would lead me into my mid twenties. All of that being said, let me share with you how God has opened doors that one month ago I didnt know existed, and update you on what was on the other side of the ones he opened in 2011.

Working for Church of the Redeemer has been amazing. The first month has flown by, and I’m left looking back on it like Lot’s wife. I’m almost settled into my office, I have roughly a days worth of work to get it up to par. The new Website for the church is in the works, my friend Josh and I are hoping we can launch it by April. Our goal for the website as of now is to make it “simple, functional, and beautiful.” Redeemer now has a twitter account, this will be used to update members one events, and to spark their imaginations of what a God glorifying life looks like. Febuary will be about learning, and mastering the program Constant Contact and mastering a mass text program called simplytxt. Constant Contact will be how the church gets across news letters that are also “simple, functional, and beautiful” So pray for me, February will be a pain in the ass, because constant contact is very simple once you know it, but getting to know it isn’t easy, especially knowing it well enough to teach others how to use it.

OH! Also, I’m trying to talk Drew into letting me plan an Ash Wednesday service, so if you know Drew, badger him about it.

I’ve had a wonderful month at  The Bean and Grape  as well. This month has renewed my joy for coffee. I get bored easily, so with jobs I hit these slumps that really make me wish I was anywhere in the world, doing anything else. It has happened with every Job I’ve ever had. That tendency sucks, but when I push through it I end up loving the job more than I did in the beginning. In January I really began to enjoy my job again, and for that I’m overjoyed. Also, I’ve began coming to work at 10 A.M. instead of 7 which has given me time to have a morning routine, and has kept me from hating my alarm clock.  I’m really looking forward to February, we have some cool ideas for valentines day and I’m excited to see what happens. Also, remember those coffee tastings I mentioned planning? I need to get to that.

If  you’ve made it this far you are a saint, and you deserve to hear about new exciting things.

A week ago my friend MattE (Yes thats how he spells it) approached me about doing some small projects for his non-profit organization. His organizations mission statement is to glorify God by helping orphans and disadvantaged youth in Polk County, FL and around the World.” If you know me at all, then you know this mission statement speaks into issues that are very dear to me. This opportunity is still young, and undeveloped, but i must admit I’m terribly excited to be a part of what these guys are doing. You can check them out at http://diazfamilyfoundation.org/

Also, im in negotiation right now to purchase a Dslr camera, that I love in a romantic way.

Well, thats a ton to digest, i think i could keep blabbing for days, but this is America, and attention spans really don’t stretch much further than whats already written on this page.

Thanks for reading, and i’d appreciate your prays.
